I thought this would be an interesting idea.....a great way for us fellow MV enthusiasts to get to know eachother a little bit better.

I'll kick things off for starters.

My name is Jeff, born and raised in California........ my entire family lives on different parts of the US......my mother and brother currently reside in the wonderful state of Maryland....my only sister lives with her Marine husband in beautiful hawaii.

Just turned 21 this past january and have officially began to enjoy the benefits of being of "legal age".....I live in the wonderfully over rated city of Rancho Cucamonga with my girlfriend of 4 years....just bought a condo out here...and slowly moving myself up the ladder.

i started the whole college thing as soon as i finished high school.....went for about 2 years...got my associates degree in business administration....and decided at that time that i needed a break from school for a little while.
I worked in a custom motorcycle shop doing bodywork and simple grunt work around....oil changes....rejetting carbs....etc etc.... i opened up a sportbike parts "store" in the shop and ran that successfully for about a year...serving all 50 states. I loved the job, but the pay was very minimal and i decided to search for a career. I kind of fell into this whole real estate thing, my cousin who was a loan officer actually let me tag along with him at work a couple weeks and i realized that it was something i knew i could do. Now with hundreds of loans closed and numerous "top producer" awards...here i am today. I do both ends of real estate...sales and loans...but specialize in mortgages.

My first bike was a honda cbr600......i rode the bike until it broke...putting close to 30,000 miles on it in about 18 months......went through about 20 pairs of knee pucks in that short period...and further enhanced my love for riding.

I moved onto my ducati 748........which i had a blast on as well......but it being a used bike (and me being way to enthusiastic to buy it) the previous owner did not take care of her....and i inherited every problem she had. so...thousands of dollars later.....she's finally in the working condition i'd hoped for her to be in at the time of purchase.

I recently bought my MV from pro italia as you all may know.......and i can't explain just how happy i am to have the SPR. I look forward to many good times with her....and i've already bought a couple pairs of knee sliders to break her in properly. :naughty:

Thanks to everyone on here for their wonderful hospitality, this is by far the best group of people on any forum i've ever been on. :)

is it true?

if you wanna have an italian bike you need a japanese aside?

My Brutale is at the shop for the last two months and I have to rely on my Ninja 300 to go to work :frown2:
a lucky 48 year old dad of two awesome teenage daughters and also have a beautiful Italian girlfriend, and I'm not just talking about my F4 750..When I'm not riding, enjoy trail running and training for my next running race.

geek on science virology podcasts and somehow end up watching suspension adjustment mods on track bikes where only mentally I'd dream of riding on a racetrack.

My bike currently is a glorified museum peice that is sitting inside the motorcycle dealership where I work at (sales) in Baltimore, awaiting hopefully an easy diagnosis so I can enjoy her properly and legally in the state of Maryland, USA.

What dealership do you work at?? Baltimore was in my territory in my last job (retired).

Just so you know...your "Hailwood" edition was never a model produced by the MV Factory, so someone created it for you. Looks nice though. We can help you get her going. Why did she fail the state inspection? You should answer in your original "New Member" first post.
Hailwood Edition, one of one......

Welcome.

(Oh, and Ed....Thank-you for saving me from my snarky self!)

Hello,

New to the forum.

My name is Jonathan and currently have a 2001 Ducati 996 SPS and a 1977 Piaggio Ciao in Phoenix, AZ. In the past I have owned several Italian bikes: 1999 Ducati Monster 900 and a 1975 AMF Harley 250.

I have been contemplating the next bike to add and considering the following bikes:
-MV 312R or RR
-MV Tambo
-Bimota DB1
-Bimota DB2

Since many of those bikes are limited run production and do not come up for sale often, it may take some time. I did notice two Tambos for sale here with one possibly still for sale. Aquiring a Tambo would be the ultimate bike to add so I could be on step closer to a Tamburini Collection.

The CC is beautiful however at the current values, I could have a tambo + bimota.
I might be selling my 312RR 9k miles.

Have you seen @drmasis offering??? He's practically giving it away...and with all the original swag (which adds massive value).

Welcome Zstyle, and thanks for the mention, Ed, I can't agree with you more on the value of my offer! Z, you should try to make it to the Gapalicious, early Oct, to meet up with a great group!

Just seen this thread....

Name is Mike, 46 young Structural Engineer. Currently live on the sea in mid Wales, but we have literally just had an offer provisionally accepted on a place in North Italy (Tuscany) as I enjoy downhill MTB'ing, windsurfing and snowboarding. During the week I play squash to a reasonable level most evenings. Another reason for going abroad is the UK (in my opinion) is going down the pan so I'm checking out. I spend a lot of time each year in Europe and it's a far, far better place than the UK at the minute. Cut my teeth on 2 strokes in the very late 80's / early 90's (first proper bike at 17 after passing bike test, 2 weeks later got a huge bank loan and bought a mark 10 RG500 Gamma. Owned it for 3 years, 60K miles including a complete re-build, only form of transport then and even did dispatch riding round London on it for 6 months for Amtrak Couriers....the joys of ignorance and youth). Ahhh, the smell of Castrol R...

Currently have a garage full of toys:-

Caterham 340S (bonkers four wherl fun almost as good as a bike)
GSXR1000 K7 (now track bike)
Aprillia SXV550 road toy
Suzuki RM250 2007 stroker (scares the crap out of me but great fun And reminds me of my youth / powerbands / 2t's)

And after having a play on an F3 at Cartagena circuit last November, I just had to have one - so a new 2018 F3800 RC was snapped up (liked the colours of last year's RC more than this year's, plus a bit of discount for last year's stock). I've always liked the look of the F4 RR's (and still do - the itch is still there that I may scratch in a couple of years).

Used to club race RGV250's and then onto R6's - didn't rip any roots up but wobbled around in top ten position in later years (43 was my race number, riding RGV's, everyone wanted 34 - me included - so I reversed the digits). Lost my stomach, spleen, a kidney and half of left lung (plus right shoulder is built like terminator) due to motorcycles, so been lucky (twice in ITU). Rarely ride on the road but track half a dozen times a year in Europe and at the Nurburgring several times a year. Spa is my favourite short circuit (it's just epic).

Not married but a bonkers wife to be who is Lithuanian. Enjoy reading and playing piano in spare time.

New member in West Oz

Hi everyone,
Just joined, but I had already found this forum so useful, great technical tips.
I bought a 2005 F4-1000S late last year, done about 2000 kms so far, there's an oil leak me and the mechanic are trying to sort out, but man what a fun bike to ride.
In my shed I have an '83 Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans III, a sweet little 2018 Skyteam Ace 125 and a 2012 CBR250R as my daily ride.
I actually own two other bikes, a '69 Norton 750 Fastback and a '79 Triumph 750 Bonny, but both of those no longer live in my garage (stolen, many years ago).:crying:
Cheers, David.

Now then, I'm Rob from county Durham, I'm 107 years old and been riding bikes most of that. Married with 4 kids.
I've always been an Italian bike fan but mostly owned Japanese and a few Triumphs! But in recent years I've took the plunge, I have an RSV Mille R, a 916 and a 2000 F4, the best looking bike of all time.
I work in private sector education as the Head of a private college. Previously I worked in public sector education as an Assistant principal and Head of school, before that as a University lecturer. Don't get the wrong Idea I was a raggy arsed kid from the wrong side of the tracks, at 16 rather than college I was a laminater in a fibre glass factory.
