Just watched Howie Mainwaring win the british superstock race at oulton park, :f4: the setup was perfect the thing was on rails winning by 2 seconds, they are running the zard pipes sounded ok, great day especially being the only guy in the crowd with the mv jacket.

Very cool. I need to get over there to see a race! You guys are lucky.

Our luck over here in the US with MV hasn't been so good.

Good result, well done Howie, In the interview he said 'we had a slow start to the season as we only had the 06 bike, but now we have the 07 bike etc etc' interesting I thought........

I have also noticed that the good MV riders ( Howie Scassa etc) always seem to back the bike in, maybe thats the bikes trait when raced at a top level?

Martin came 12th...just watched a re-run on the box.....what dire commentry!!...no mention of any of the overtaking by Howie...I'm sure Jamie hadn't even heard of MV as he just referred to that 'red bike'...At least his oppo gave the impression of some knowledge...but most of the conversation was about the others...Great racing though...Go Howie!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:f4: :yo: :D

as you might be able to guess i'm a tiny teensy bit happy about howies result yesterday.

what can i say, an awesome day that could so very nearly have gone badly wrong and resulted in a DNF for howie.

short story is this, our race was split in 2 due to rain, superbikes were out next and had live coverage so had to be on grid at a set time. All the superstock riders came into pitlane to be told to get out asap and come back for a restart after the bsb race. Anyway as howie pulled up we heard a load of hissing and saw that his rad had been punctured by a stone when he had a small out braking moment trying to get to 2nd place. this was obviously bad news as we didn't know how long he had run with no water. Anyway went back to the awning and replaced the rad, filled the bike with water, put new tyres on hoped for the best...............wasn't quite expecting a podium but hey ho i ain't complaining;)

Martin once again had a good solid race and is continuing to get faster at each track we go to, we have seen nothing like this guys full potential and i'll keep pushing him untill we find it.

really happy right now, oh and to top it off we've been invited to wsb this weekend at monza to guest ride one of EVR's bikes in european superstocks.....................how f*&%ing cool is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whats the italian for guiness btw???? ;)

thanks for the support guys and i'm glad that i was able to do what i had promised so many people i would do and thats to be the first to get MV a podium at british level racing in over 30 years.

couldn't have done it without the team and riders around me, to mick, wurz, caz, steve, ed, my dad, david and of course martin and howie i thank you all.

cheers guys

roll on another podium eh:) :f4:

Hey Mike, watch Badovini sometime. He looks very similar to Rossi. Not bothered, just smooth and very fast. No backing it in. Watching him at the Donington race was textbook in how to run a race from the front. That pillock on the R1 that took him out was way out of control trying to catch him.

If you haven't seen the race, PM me I might be able to help you out.

it was rumoured that he would be at oulton last weekend..............but didn't appear to be there.

now press is a funny thing, you would have thought that an historic win like this would be big news wouldn't you?

apparently it's not after a conversation i had with someone yesterday, something on the lines of "support classes aren't really what the readership follow and we don't have space for it, it's all superbikes and supersports that people want to know about"

so foggy gets over 2 pages about signign a deal to race bikes in a years time and what he might possibly achieve and i get nothing for actually achieving it. with howies lap times he could have qualified and beaten quite a few superbikes in both superbike races.

clearly none of that is news worthy, instead lets focus on stuff that might never happen or might be doomed to failiure. anger doesn't even come close to how i felt having that conversation.

:jerkoff: the lot of them.

i was fairly impressed that he kept it upright, not too impressed with the hole in the rad but very impressed with the stopped race and restart;) so all in all an impressive race:laughing:

but the most impressive thing is that the italian for guiness is the same as it is in english.............now that's got to be more than just luck:)

Bloody typical this country... now if the bike had blown up and taken out another bike.. then it'd be all over the paper..

You would have thought MSN would have picked up on it though ..

Mind u there whole half page on club level racing is crap.. always has been..

I gonner write to emap... and complain.. that they missed a great story..
and that if no media can be bothered at at least national level, how can people get sponsored/promoted into the international scene..

Email to emap - MCN..

Well i've just sent this to MCN .. Dunno if all u agree , but maybe you should all send somthing .. coz i'm pissed of...

"How can such a paper like MCN miss the oppurtunity of publishing a story that for the 1st time in 30years an MV Agusta won a National Race/Event on British soil, after last weeks spread of Fogarty's involvment in WSBK withMV Augsta......

Even if this class is ONLY a National Event like Superstock, and especially with all the talk of the BSB boys possibly going to Superstock spec engines etc..

How can the guys at national level ever get noticed/sponsored , when the major motorcyle publication in this country cant be bothered..

You really have missed the boat this time.. shame on you...."
