I read in AMCN that MV Agusta has stopped production (again!) and that they are $53 MILLION in the red after making $150 million on the sale of Hasqvana! It looks like MV gets about half of the cost of producing a bike from sale price.

I went through this with Laverda...... so who will buy MV this time?????????? Anyone want to buy an MV F41000R with low kms..... (in sinister black)

Sorry if i have missed the discussion. What thread was it in?

I have not been on for a while. I have been getting my 1098 fixed after a small high-side that cost half the new price of the bike to repair.......

:naughty::naughty:

So will MV survive? Will they produce a new model (ie not just another iteration of the F4)???

Carefull what you read and write !

Hi everyone. Heard the news about MV and I can assure everyone reading my wife and I were at the MV factory on the 16th May '08 and life was going on as per normal and we watched several bikes taking some form on the production line and a photo shoot was being planned for the Herseys F4 312R Batman Competition Bike. The big bore engines were pumped out and tested also. There may be some truth that the Brand Name or even the Business is for sale but DON'T cut your wrists yet ! Companies get bought and sold everyday like Jaguar, Aston Martin, Fairchild Aviation etc. etc.. A sale does NOT mean the end of the world, in some cases it may help the brand / product !!!!!

I read or heard somewhere that the bak that was invested in MV took most of the money from the sale and instead of putting it into MV to help it out kept the greenbacks for themselves.

Yes, that is correct.

So, the bank thought MV was in such bad shape financially that they tried to recover some debt and were worried about investing more money into a financial black hole.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Sounds even more worrying. MV makes a $50 million loss in the year they make $150 M from sale of Husqvana???

Really does sound like Laverda!

pity... maybe MV needs a manager who can control costs and, here's a radical idea, sell a bike for more than it costs to produce them?

cheers

No, the Bank took the money from THE SALE of Husqvana, that was meant to go to Cagiva/MV to settle some debts. You need to read the interview I posted a few weeks back.
