Hi All

I have a track MV F4 1000R 2007 model. It has the decat pipe and a brembo m/c. Recentley the crank has failed – might be another cause though and needed some help:

1: Does this model suffer from oil starvation or any other fault related to riding the bike on the track? If so does anyone have the details on how to modify them?

2: Whilst I’m rebuilding the engine are there any other modifications worth doing that benefits the bike? ie Porting/Compression Change/Cams/Airbox mods??

3: Any other bike mods worth considering that benefit the model the best? Best way to lighten up the bike it’s a bit of a beast!

4: Whats the best suspension modifications that can be done for the track?

Thanks
Marc

Hi

Yes its a track weapon but reliability is the key, so really aiming for around 180 to 190 at the back wheel. Budget wise not really sure but have the funds if necessary but whatever I do must be justified as a benefit.

You won't get a dependable 180 at the back wheel out of 1000cc MV Agusta Engine. I've taken dozens of pounds of the weight of the bike, and kept a pretty good record of it. If you already have the Brembo ultralight rims that came stock on the bike you won't get any improvement from changing them. The biggest weight savings are: Battery, exhaust, swingarm. Somewhere there is a thread on the construction of my super light SPR track bike. It details the pounds I save replacing various parts with magnesium and titanium.
