Hi there, I'm would like to get my 990r a bit louder :) it's far to quiet in stock trim for my liking...

My old 910r had an arrow thunder exhaust which I had purchased second hand, but this time I would like to stick with the slash it look. I have researched all the options but have decided that the MV Corse stuff...

So I have some funds, but not enough for both :( so my plan is to get one, then at a later date (and if possible) get the second item, but may even just stick with the one item if it's a good noise.

I LOVE the look of the pipes, but I would like other people's opinions on which one to go for? The pipes or the manifolds... First... :)

Ive done pipes first....for the noise and just bolt on fitment. They look and sound great. Run without the dB killers in

When I get around to doing the manifold and lose the cat, I will put the dB killers back in otherwise they will be too noisy....

Cheers bogie. That's what I'm thinking, pipe first. Had a look thru your pics, looks like you did the older style adjustable foot pegs as well?

I like some of the cabin bits you have... Mines about half done :) side covers and that front fender surround will be on the cards at some stage.

Those footpegs are standard on the 1090RR and are adjustable .....enough for me not to spend $$$ on changing them anyway

The carbon addiction is kicking in, im tempted by a rear underseat unit and headlight support/headlight surround ....mmmm

I really should do the headers and ECU next, its a shame there is no titanium header option to fit the OL4 pipes :(

Ha! Yes additive stuff :)

From my understanding the pipes are actually stainless with a titanium wrap over the main pipe area?

I think the lower part of the pipe is stainless and the cylindrical can is titanium, with carbon ends. Certainly the weight difference to the OE stainless is significant. If the can was steel it would be similar weight

You will notice when you take the OE off and compare ....

910R here, Arrow Thunder saved LOTS of weight and got rid of the lopsided rear end

used an F4 right passenger peg mount, LED tail light/indicators combo and a home

made plate mount with a hidden LED plate light

Cheers Noel.. Very similar to my old dear departed 910R. Arrow thunder with the integrated indicators! You must have good taste. :stickpoke

I decided to run with the slashcut look this time as i dont feel the arrow suit the gen2 bikes as much from a look point of view. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) that means MV Corse. :mouthwate :mouthwate :mouthwate

So the pipes are FANTASTIC!!! but the mounting bracket leaves a lot to be desired.. It looks like galvanised steal. Ive reached out to Gabriele from evolutionbike to see if they do a carbon version, but i know this is a long shot and i cant find it on their site.

Maybe powder coat it black?

Any other thoughts?

It definitely needs a Ti bracket to go with it... that's a shame. I might know a guy who might be able to make a couple if I can convince him to make me one. Subscribed for now, and I'll let you know :yo:

Yes - for that sort of money this was very cheap feeling part. Not that i care because the pipes are sweet!

On the same note, i might be able to get these made in carbon.. will keep you informed.

A single piece that replaced the mount and the exhaust hanger would be great :)

LOL

I have the same thoughts every time I go out for a ride on it, then I dont ride it for a week or two (have other bikes to share the mileage) and then the Brutale surprises me again

I think when I lose the cat and change the headers, the baffles will need to go back in .....but for now, baffles out is great :)

I had wondered about drilling some more holes in the baffles... Maybe just to make it a bit louder.
