Remember those threads I had about 312R going for $20K OTD (about $18K w/o the CA tax)? Those prices were made possible by MV Agusta USA supporting dealer to move inventory. I got the e-mail (below) that the program ends on 5/31. I guess MV Agusta USA got to the numbers they were looking for.:yo:

Sunday at PI: Tech Talk. BBQ. Racing. Offers ending.
Join us at Pro Italia this Sunday the 31st for a full afternoon of Italian motorcycling enthusiasm.

The Deal: starting at 11 AM we'll be hosting one of our free Tech Talks wherein one of our Factory Trained Technicians will run-down basic motorcycle maintenance. This talk will take place in our Service bay and is free. Immediately following we'll be firing up the BBQ grill and settling in for a day of watching races. At noon the 250 GP from Italy will be broadcast followed by the MotoGP race from Mugello from 1-2 PM. After that we'll be watching both of the World Superbike races from Salt Lake City, Utah. The WSBK events run from 2-4 PM.

Stop on by for knowledge, a bite, big-screen racing and to take last minute advantage on financing for Ducatis or remarkable savings on '07 MV Agustas that end on the 31st. Contact Pro Italia Sales at 818 249-5707 or [email protected] for more information. This and other future events can be found on our calendar page..

I will be curious if this is the reason for the preorder only on the 1078 if they are just clearing stock for a new model.

I think so.

1) MV had a lot of F4R and 312's in inventory and dealers;
2) MV doesn't want their $25K motorcycles selling for the discounted prices of $18K. Hurts the brand image; and
3) Just speculating but a new bike may be here next year and limited 312RR keeps the niche market from being really pissed off.

Oh, by the way, Pro Italia sold my F4. I got a call that they sold my F4 last week and were looking for the second set of keys. Wasn't even on their showroom for a month!

Don't know. I was told they'd try to sell it for $12K. Their site lists a red/silver '05 with 1600 miles going for $11,500. It all stock like mine but mine had 7,000 mile but just got the 7,500 service.

Yes, I traded in my F4 for the 1198 (base) on April 30th and will just wait until a new bike comes out - and address the radiator mounts. ;)I'm just a bit surprised those sold my bike that quickly.
