I was riding around and out if nowhere the bike looses all rev and power. Then comes back on or stalls. Happens anytime. The yellow indicator light comes on but then goes off. Now the bike won't even turn on.
Dirty/Faulty kickstand switch?
When bike is turned on, whether the engine is running or not and you have the kickstand down it shows the yellow indicator light on the dash. *When you're in first gear and kickstand is down the yellow indicator is still on and when you release the clutch is automaticly shuts off the engine.
Maybe dirt or factory (the watery) chain lube has accumilated itself into the kickstand connector
It is the connector that has the main fuse (and spare) on it. Unplug it, look at the wiring going in and the condition of the connections. Check your battery ground cable for clean and tight connections at BOTH ends.
All the wires seem to be okay. I haven't washed my bike in a while and I try not to ride in the rain. A few rain drops here and there but no down pour. I typically only ride during the day so there isn't much difference.
also check the wiring loom down the right hand side of the bike, I recently had a similar problem which turned out the wiring loom was rubbing and wore on the frame, this in turn caused a couple of wires to earth on the frame and caused all kinds of trouble, from loss of all electrics, and then coming back on when ignition off etc, check no wires have been rubbing and have earthed on frame of bike.
I am planning on doing an engine head update on my 2012 F3 675 to get it up to date with the latest models and boost reliability for more frequent track days later this year (and I like tinkering).
My plan is specifically looking at:
1. New intake valves and cam (as per the MV...
Is it possible that my clutch is bad @ 12k miles? It started slipping this morning at half throttle accelerations....it felt like clutch. I've never messed around with a motorcycle clutch. Could it be I need tighter springs if there's enough pad material? I haven't opened it yet.
First of all...
As i said i own my B3 2013 from 2 months and I was looking to upgrade the software ECU ( it was never upgraded before ) but before to do that i would like to ask you more info about this step.
My model is 2013 and i heard someone that would not recommend me to do it as will lose power...
So my F3 has been standing still and hasnt been run since October/November of last year.
And during these months the oil obviously has dropped into the pan and upper parts of the engine are completely dry.
So now I wanna start riding again and firstly wanna crank the engine over a couple of...
