As the 312 has a single seat, I'm looking at fitting some sort of protector/sticker cum numberboard to stop scuffing the top part of the rear seat cowl when swinging ones leg over to get on board.
I see Ducati do a rear white numberboard but nowts available for the MV
Maybe somone out there with the manufacturing process could make something .........

Just cover it with some automotive clear bra paint protection film. Also sometimes referred to as "helicopter tape". Xpel Ultimate is amongst the best and it's self-healing properties work great for that area. You can buy it by the foot in various widths directly from them: http://www.xpel.com/products/bulk.asp.

If you aren't very familiar with installing it it can be a bit tricky to get an invisible installation. In that case, simply google for clear bra installers in your area. They'll usually come to your house/office and should be able to protect any areas you want.

Also, for what it's worth - the white sections on the tails of Ducati superbikes are number plate backgrounds and they are painted on, not any sort of protection.
