hi,
does anybody know how many kilos is possible to take-off a 1000. lets say with unlimited cash?

exhaust
frame plates
fearings
fuel tank
air box

With unlimited cash buy a Veltro and go on a diet yourself!! :laughing: :laughing:

with unlimited cash, why would the weight even matter? you can buy enough power/suspension/brakes to easily compensate any weakpoint.

so you have no ideea about how many kilos can i drop lets say with magnesium swingarm?

Use the "Tamburini" as a guide to weight loss, that has full carbon fairings, mag swingarm/engine plates/yoke, and the lighter Marchesini's, from my experience changing all the plastic fairings inc seat unit will only save about 1.5-2.9 kg's :jsm:

Search for it on here. It's been discussed before what all the carbon and magnesium weighs per piece.

================

-Mg Swingarm 4.1kg * 1.55 = Alu at 6.36kg
-Mg Frame places 1.08kg each = Alu at 1.67kg each
-Mg wheels 10.4kg Alu are measured at 11.6kg (*1.55 calculation would have put it at +16kg)


Total = Alu 9.7kg (21.3kg w/wheels)
= Mg 6.26kg (16.66kg w/wheels)


Brutale Oro description tells that the Mg saves +6kg with the few cf trim pieces it comes with instead of the plastic. So say 5kg or so saved in total Mg?

Ah! slip of the finger.........around 200/250 gramms per piece, so 1.0 to 1.5 kg was what I meant to say :) that's for all five pieces top/side and bottom fairing plus seat unit

Strange that even with the additional lightened hardware, (generator, connecting rods, pistons, brake rotors, calipers, rims, exhaust...I'm sure I forgot someting) used on the F4CC, MV indicates the dry weight, 412 lb (w/o fuel) is the same as the Tamburini.

than how veltro pista got 159 kg...ok the headlight has 5kg
lets say veltro strada got 166 on dry.
something is wrong

I too would say get a Veltro, but I heard that they were all sold out of both models.

What about a titanium (or CF) frame to replace the steel one, magnesium triple-clamps, rear sets, and other odd cast parts.

titanium frame?is it enough rigid, i know is light but there could be o problem retaining the weight on rear wheel...
lets call bakker frame specialist.
veltro is not sold out

There are a lot of parts around that could shed some weight further than veltro pista:

Macial racing prepreg carbon side fairings have holes cut out for heat extraction
Carbon fairing stays
Carbon tank
Ti bolts
520 conversion
Ti swingarm pivot
Ti axles
Ti wheel nuts on both sides
Ti sprocket keeper
lightweight race battery
new wiring harness
ohlins 43mm front fork
are the billet brembo master cylinders lighter? How about the calipers, not sure
Run 1/4 tank of petrol
etc

It is more important where the weight comes off, rather than how much. You want to minimize the unsprung to sprung weight ratio.
