Team,

Definitely agree with that thought and here are some of my considerations:

Comparing 1st Generation or my 2007 F4 to 2nd Generation 2010...

#15 800089786 Lower Chain Slider (Under the Swing Arm) changed on the 2nd Generation 2010 so it's different part and not interchangeable.

#11 800087473 UPPER CHAIN SLIDING SHOE looks very similar as mentioned...2nd Generation Upper Chain Guide Part#8000B3622. I may take one for the team and see if this works.

#10 800087476 Chain Slider (Two) looks similar to 2010 Part#8000B3559. I just purchased one on Ebay so I wouldn't have to pay crazy shipping from Italy. Hope it's the same and works.

Good discussions.

Thanks!

Gonzo

Looks to me like it may still do the job.... just a newer design. Have you looked at it from that angle?

Gents,

I will put it on this weekend and take a look.
There is a little extension that is supposed to plug into frame plate to keep it from rotating that I may have to cut off since it’s too short to reach now.
Thanks!

Or maybe carefully drill a small indentation for the locating pin to go into???

Just to close this one out.

I put the new chain slider positioned on top of chain inside the left side frame. Didn’t have the option to drill a hole. Just tightened and it’s sitting pretty secure and I think if the chain hits this I have bigger issues. I do have the proper 1st Generation slider for inside the bottom of the side frame being shipped. Believe the top and bottom swing arm guides are more critical. Thanks for the help.

If done up tight enough I'd rather it hit the rubber than the frame, even if it does move a bit, the chains got to be pretty slack to get that far as well,
Could even cut the guide just before the bolt and round it off and you could rename it 'short stop' don't forget to patent it partner, :censored: :geek:
Another fix could be a roller in its place, 5df1b344b23c0d04e5dd1c3e-large.jpg roller guide.jpg smallest one would work, :)

Hi Gonzo, I was able to get the 87476 x 2 delivered, and was able to swap them over from the top to the bottom, both fitted right up, I got them through a dealer but i think star twin also has them, cheers

Thanks Flossy. I’ve been distracted with life and haven’t focused on MV. I’ll have get my priorities straight and get back to the cycle. Glad you found a solution.
