I

My name is Rui, and I'm kind of new here, I come from Portugal and Im living in Switzerland, I have a MV Agusta F4 1000R and i love it ;)

I am starting to have some problems with my battery, I'm thinking of having it replaced and some one mention the new Lithium batteries, does any one knows in this forum if this is possible, because apparently the lithium batteries are lighter and last longer also the amount of energy to start the engine is higher,

thanks
Rui

Hi Rui, welcome to the forum.

You´ll find every information about the bike, maintenance, spare parts in the forum.

I know there was plenty of stuff being sold in Portuguese OLX, but since you´re in Switzerland you´ll have no problem to find it nearer.

Take care,

1st Rui ;)

Just a word of advice, ask the people who sells you the lithium battery about charging it, because Lithium battery requires a different charger and from what I know, you CAN NOT jump start your lithium battery with regular battery.

Make sure you get all the information before installing this battery.

Felicidades e boa sorte.:f4:

Shorai in my F4 since almost two Years no issues at all.
Although if I have to leave home for month I take the Shorai, as every battery before, out of the bike and store it.
Once I was away for more than 8 month I thought I better buy a Shorai charger.
Guess what the charger finished charging the battery at the moment i turned my back to it.
First thing I got for my Brutale was a another Shorai.
There is no way in sight that I could possibly buy a lead acid brick again.

And now for the public service announcement: make certain you connect your new battery with the correct polarity. Understand that the ground circuit (-) is forward facing in these bikes and that there are multiple connections on each terminal.

Reversing the polarity in these bikes causes damage to the circuitry.

I now return you to the thread already in progress.

Welcome, Rui#2!
