I would like to change the front brake pads for some with more bite. I am still on the original pads which seem to lack the initial grab that I like, although they are not too bad the harder you pull. What do you think are the best for stopping power and feel?

Hello,

Try the Ferodo XR Road/Race pads. Best for all conditions. Good price on Emoto.

Cheers,

FWIW, I just dropped in a set of SBS Dual Carbon pads on my F4. The braking is much better with those pads vs. the stock ones. I got more bite, with less required lever travel and effort. And I still had pretty good feel allowing me to trail brake deeply.

However, the Dual Carbon pads are NOT FOR ROAD USE. I can't empahsize that enough. I believe that the problem is wet weather braking. This pads don't work in the wet.

BTW, my rotors are now black. It's pretty neat. The Dual Carbon pads put a transfer film onto the rotors. It's part of the bedding process. That film needs to be on there for the pads to work properly.

I gotta remember to put the OEMs back in when my bike is in street mode...
