Research on the Forum suggests that this is a fairly common problem caused in part by the side stand mounting point. I've moved (cut and paste) my response to a solution I found under 'for sale and wanted' as other newbies like myself might be interested in the option of using a form of liquid gasket, in this case one available from Toyota, rather than replacing the OEM item.

Great advice on this forum and very relevant as my 910S has just developed a nose bleed in the sump gasket.

A quick question, are their any 'gotcha's' to be wary of when dropping the sump? Looks pretty straightforward but I hate surprises :eek:

Thanks Donsy, I think I've done more spanner wanking on this bike so far than on anything I've owned since I came off the tools years ago, but I'm enjoying the challenge of getting it 'sorted', one small project at a time.

pick one and mark it with a short black zip tie on both sides of the connection

:)
