KTM apparently has put out press release stating they will enter select MotoGP races in 2016 with full factory effort in 2017. Supposedly KTM already started in May 2014 designing the V-4 engine. the Chassis will be a Steel tube trellis design(???? which makes no sense according to current race engineers)
KTM will also offer/sell KTM MotoGP bikes to privateer teams at the low discount price of 1 million Euros .
Sourse = Motomatters.com

KTM designed a V-4 engine for Kenny Roberts team years ago which was known for its high Horsepower output . But KTM ran out of money ending past effort .

In the new Moto3 class which uses a single cylinder 250cc engine. About 4-5 different F1 engineering companies and Honda (of course) designed a single Cylinder 250cc engine that could be used in Moto3 yet KTM ended up designing the best engine in that class . Source = race engine technology magazine .
(Why F1 engineering companies would make a single cylinder 250cc engine??? They stated it helped in F1 engine development. How? )

Oldnfast I too have read that myself. But being a F1 V-6 turbo & supercharged is so dramatically different than a normally aspirated 1 cylinder engine I cant see how one relates to the other . There Must be a good reason to do so? maybe its just me ? I was the short bus kid in school lol

Haven't seen KTM be competitive in any liter bike series, unless it was the German cup. They are great in the lower classes and dirt, but just don't see it in MotoGP.
