You'd never get that on trade--'Trade' is more in line with actual retail values.

I totally agree. These aren't MY numbers, these are Kelley Blue Book values as of today. The Trade column represents closer to true Retail, IMHO.

I know--KBB isn't well respected for cars, and is less accurate on bikes, and on MV's I think they're just guessing.

Even a year and a half ago I was only offered $3500 in trade for my '04 Brutale.

Good news is these values are yours if you have an insurance loss....and when the economy turns the values may not be so far off...notice they can't even propose a value for Oros or Tambos.

I've been in the car business for 34 years next month, and I'm not sure I've ever seen an actual Kelley Blue Book.......(just kidding, but we NEVER use it to value anything)

It may have some value in other regional markets, but no self respecting used car manager in the deep south uses anything other than the "Black Book".

Black Books are the only real value source in any region. Indy Black doesn't have MV values, though.

No Black, no NADA, and KBB is a joke. Makes it harder to value our bikes.

I say we use the "CAG+10%" Guide and call it done!:)

The trade column represents closer to retail? And the trade number for a 07 Brutale is $8250? And CAG said $8500?

Rib eyes will be fine thank you. Or T-bone.:stickpoke

That's partially why I posted this... a little vindication for you, Carl! I still think there's more of a "range" than a "number", but your $8,500 figure does seem to be at least the bottom of the retail range. What a sad fate for our MVs.

(I was originally referring to retail/retail trade figures for the 910R/Oro. If Oro retail is $16k and 910R is $9k, that's only a $7k margin. My $6k spread wasn't far off for a "windage guess". The Oro has WAY more ultimate value, so I withdrew my unintentionally-unfair offer.)

At this point, I may have to sell a bike to buy a steak!
