Anothermvfanatic, I hope you are just kidding. :baddeal: :bash:

It is a recovered stolen bike with slight crash damage.
The thieves attempted to burn it but were unsuccessful.
The frame appears to be straight with only slight scuffs on one side. Handlebars are straight as are forks, rear swingarm and subframe. The tacho/ instrument panel also appears undamged. The bike is sold as is with no other known history

I don't know what these go for in new or in good condition where you're at but $5,900 for this bike does not appear reasonable, but just my $0.02. I wouldn't pay anything let alone actually try to ride this thing. (which would require thousands to make road worthy, if possible) :stopp:

I'd be worried about what the theives did to the motor. If they tried to light it on fire they might have also tried to beat on the thing...

Missing radiator is likely costly, but it also appears that the wiring harness might be missing.

I'd have to look at it in person. If you're patient, you can find a lot of the parts you'd likely need on e-bay. The way I would look at it is figure out what a used bike would cost you complete. If this bike is 1/4 the price, it might be okay. If it's 1/2 the price, once you add the parts, you're close to something of known quantity you can drive before purchasing. I wouldn't get into this unless it was a very, very good deal.

Last consideration is the title status. Is it in a salvage status? What does it take in your country to reinstate it to normal status? Will the title always be marked as previously salvaged? This alone depreciates the value of your bike when you go to sell it.

Be careful

Easy enough to do a check if this guy is the owner and is YOUR responsibility to check it!

I bought the 06' same colour with 5,000 for under $19k... if your serious on this bike get a dealer and mechanic to check it out and get a quote.... if it comes out cheaper than $17k it may be a good buy...

Personally, i think this bike may have been used as a track bike... therefore the engine may have been given a serious flogging :spank: ... get his service records if u can and go to the dealer to verify any 'other' work that may have been done.

I wouldn't touch it... but then i don't need to :)

It's worth watching on here for good second hand Brutales, plus it'll give you all in other countries an idea what we have to pay for bikes here. :jsm:

The tip for you is, they go on the link above (web site) "before" they get into the magazine & onto the shelf at the news agents. So if you see a bargain on Bikepoint (the web) get onto it fast & make an offer before the owner starts getting the phone calls from the release of the magazine. Most of the buyers don't use the web site only the magazine.
We brought a Brutale like this just by accident, before we new this input, & 4 or 5 days latter the old owner rang up telling us his phone had just started going nuts that day......I sortta felt guilty for getting it at a low offer price on the spot when we chased it, cause he was a good human,...... but he had a lot more $$$ than we did :naughty:
Ying & yang, I've had both myself over the years. :)

Hey Scary... Bikepoint just proves to me why i haven't visited it in a couple of years!... their prices are pretty high and it costs a lot to advertise with them.... i stick with bikesales.com.au ... has worked well for me!

PS. anothermvfanatic... if u really want this bike.... offer a really low price on it.... see what the owner says.... doubt he's gonna get a lotta calls over this one!!!

I looked at that stolen bike. Isnt the price $14990 ? Also it has a badly dinted rear rim. AND good ole Phil ( shop owner)tried to pass it off as his own personal bike! I have no problems with bike sale sites, its up to you what you pay. I should disclose I'm selling an 750 evo3 on bikesales.com.au 2003 model, $20750, but $19,ooo if you mention this site. cheers

hhhhhmmmmm,
1.0 track bike maybe.
or
2.0 Donor bike for a crash repair
or
3.0 Start for a special project bike
or
4.0 Somenone need a new engine?
or
5.0 Too much trouble

If I had the time, money and patience I would go No.3.0
