I am at a crossroad gentleman,
I have the cash to either get a rare four stroke sportbike or build a one of a kind 2T bike, and i dont know what to do :(

The old bat:thewife: says i can only have one (for now) and I have a great oppurtunity.

Both can (and hell yeah it will) be used for street duty with a 30% track duty.

Neither will be a run back and forth to work type bike, but they will see at least 3 days out of the week service.

I dont know, what do you guys think.

And the reason I dont want to say the bikes is because it may sway your judgement and I want to hear your opinion without the swaying :)

If I were you I'd buy the rare 4 stroke. You probably won't lose money on it should you decide to part with it down the road. However building a one of a kind two stroke will almost definitely guarantee you a loss.

And if you decide to build a bike I'm sure :thewife: is going to like it even less that you are "spending all your time with that damn bike and not paying attention to me."

Buy the rare bike, tell her it is an investment, tinker with it and spend more time with her. Win-win.

The two stroke sounds like a lot of effort, time and heartache...but boy when it's done ..it'll be yours...You'll have made something special and personal to you. In an age when we all know the price of most things and the value of less it's rare to get such an opportunity....

Given the funds anybody can spend money. Building something..well that's more of a challenge.

BUILD IT !!!!!

ps I built four bikes ..and I don't regret any of it...I met peeps from all over the world...and learnt far more than just signing a cheque....and it always feels real special wheeling out one of my own ; )

I guess it depends on how much time you want to spend. If you know you need a project to keep you entertained for the next couple of years--Build. If you want the immediate satisfaction---get a rare bike.

I have a friend who has in total 24 bikes,he has more 2 strokes than 4 stroke and belive me the 2 strokes are worth more money they are becoming more rare than 4 strokes. The last one he bought was an nsr250 and i know he paid more than he really wanted and it is in showroom condition,i have seen them on ebay going for £5000 plus.My personal choice would be a 2 stroke but then thats me.I have an rgv250 in the shed and paid £770 for it they are fetching double that now.

This is an old project unfortunately that I lost motivation (and more) on after a major failing (Thanks Two Stroke Shop >:-( ), but I am at a fork in the road and I just needed some input and re-motivation.
