Hi Guys,
I’m wondering how to go about checking the fuel pump on my 2007 F41000.
So, it sat up for winter and I started it once in January and let it run for a few minutes.
Now there is no priming on the fuel pump and obviously won’t start. All fuses are ok. I’ve read that it’s a common problem that the pump gets gunked up over winter if fuel is left in the tank.
But before I shell out for a new pump I want to make sure it is the pump.
Any suggestions on how I eliminate everything else?
Really appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Explodingtoad;
1st download the manual, then read the Electrical Trouble Shooting Guide
Then look at the wiring diagram and find the power and ground wires in the HARNESS going to the pump
Lift the tank and unplug the wires to the pump, connect a multimeter to the 2 wires
Turn the key on, do you have power? remember the ECU only powers the pump for a few seconds
If you have power in the harness, the problem MIGHT be the pump
Pull the pump, put 12v to the correct terminals
Still nothing? pull the plug out of the pump and put 12v directly to the pump
It works, it's the wires between the harness plug and the pump
It doesn't work.....its the pump.....you can buy them for $20-$30 on eBay

replace the filter while you're in there
:grin2:

Another note on this: Leaving fuel in the tank over a winter season will not hurt your pump. It is better to use a stabilizing agent, but it is not REQUIRED.
