How do I tell if my bike still has a Catalytic convertor.
Would love to mix in some 108 leaded gasoline.

What is the advantage of using higher Octane in your F4 ? It is more expensive.

I use a higher Octane in my 1980 Laverda Jota as the engine was designed for higher Octane fuels..Something to do with avoiding detonation and piston holing...

well - I typically keep lots of 108 around for my old cars.
it will raise the octane level and lower the ethanol percentage.

just thought it "might help - can't hurt"
but if it will ruin the O2 sensor - then I just wont.

Sounds like a won't hurt-might help situation.

Taking the bike into service this week, after confirming with the dealer I may start to add 1 gallon of the 108 to my 4 gallons of 92.
it will increase the octane and reduce the ethanol.

My cars LOVE the 108. -
even the ones with the 10-1 compression - they just run better on the stuff.

LOL - the dealer said no 02 sensor, but yes Catalytic Convertor.
Not going to do anything until I speak to a Service technician who is actually looking at my bike.

Higher octane rating is a reduction in energy of the fuel. Why would you want to do that if there is no benefit? It's simply burning money.

Not that much extra - the 108 leaded is $3.74 per gallon more then 92 E10.
Just thought I would try it and see.
But if truly there was no benefit - then I wouldn't continue the practice.

The effect on the old cars is dramatic, and immediately noticeable.

YOU could look at the mid pipe......

if it looks like it swallowed a 4" dia. can of beans it has a Cat

if the mid pipe is all the same diameter in the center, it doesn't have a Cat

simple:stickpoke

of course if it was one of the ones, that somebody like me, cut the pipe through the welds and removed the POS and welded the pipe so you can't tell from the outside

Whats even better than that is if you could get some ethanol free fuel. Sorry everybody's cranky. Seems like they don't like 750's or something. :/

Yes - that is what I should just get - lots of E-free fuel here at the boat marinas.
I have been reluctant to head over to those - but I guess it is finally time

now will I have E- free and 108 leaded. I am like a service station over here. OMG

Me three... ;)

I have been tempted to get one of those airport fuel trucks that you see at the local FBO's and fill it up with E-free and do my own private fuel station. I may just go ahead and do it if E15 gets popular. I'm not putting that stuff in my cars and bikes. With as large of a volume that I could buy at one time I could possibly get a discount by going directly to the distributor to pick up my fuel. Although it probably would be just as easy to dig a giant hole and do the underground tank thing and have it delivered and not have a huge truck taking up space. :)
