Hi Guys

Someone called me last night and unfortunately I couldn't take the call as I was in a restaurant with my wife and I forgot to put my phone on silent.

Sorry I couldn’t talk at the time and please accept my apologies for not recognising the voice.

The phone reception was dreadful and I couldn't catch the name who called.

So who ever you are please accept my apologies and feel free to call back as we discussed..

I’m out tonight again with the wife to see the new 007 Bond film “Skyfall”, so email me if its not urgent..

Cheers everyone

John

Chuck and I went on Tues night. Can't miss James Bond in the theatre. We have a movie theatre here that has "lux" seating. You pick your seats in advance, they are huge leather chairs in a private section in the back of the theatre (designed so no one blocks your view) complete with waitstaff for cocktails, dinner and dessert. It's the only way we will go to a movie now! :yo::drummer:

Still don't know 100% who's been trying get hold of me ?

.

I think it’s my mate Anthony is the US who has been trying to get hold of me.. I think I missed another call from Tony today, as I couldn’t get to the phone in time before it rang off.. I’m no spring chicken these days.

Hey Rob you cheeky monkey.. Everybody knows my number.

It’s “Whitehall 1212”.. :stickpoke:)..

We didn’t manage to see “Skyfall” last night as the heavens opened up in the evening and the drain gully in front of the garage over flowed and flooded the garage..

:lightning:freezing: :rant::rant::rant::rant:

I was having a nightmare trying to unblock the retched drain at 10pm at night in the pissing rain with drain rods and a garden hose..

It was like colonic irrigation on an industrial scale. :jsm: The horror… the horror. ;)

We’re going to see “Skyfall” tonight hopefully, but not in the opulent surroundings like Chuck and Cindy.. It will be more like the best cheap seats left we can find and sneak in your own snacks..

Cindy.. Here in the UK a small tub of popcorn at the cinema cost more than a 2 bedroom end of terrace house.. You need to book an appointment with the local bank manager to apply for a mortgage if you want to buy a hotdog and a cola.

And as far as Nachos at the cinema are concerned, you don’t actual buy a portion, you invest in a portion and hopefully the price of Nachos has gone up by the time the film is finished. Only the super rich, our Middle Eastern friends and Randy can afford Nachos with Cheese.

A small tub of popcorn at the cinema here costs about £4.70. It’s cheaper to buy a bag of Faberge Eggs..

PS: How are you doing Chuck ?... Remember mate, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." :)

Ah, yes, the stars...I love the stars....

I am healing, I think. There is a 20% chance I won't heal and then I'd need a surgical fix.

Here's to healing without surgery!:friday:

Bring Liesl and come visit, we'll treat you to a movie, "lux" style! :) We can even do tequila shooters! :smoking:

If you and Chuck want to go to that movie, you are on your own...although I think the 'lux" seating provides lotion, a warm cloth and a raincoat...:wtf:

No Aston Martin was harmed in the making of this film.

.

Mystery solved. . It was Tony who has been trying to get hold of me and we spoke last night..

Well we saw “Skyfall” last night and to be honest, I didn’t rate it that much… My wife loved it and gave it a 9 to 9.5 out of 10, where I gave it a7 out of 10.

The real Bond film didn’t start for me until he and M went back to the garage to collect his car.. It was like a film of two halves.. Old and new.

I thought the pace of the film was to slow for a Bond feature and the story line wasn’t as good as a Fleming original.

The Bond villain was the first to have more in common with George Michael than with SPECTRE.. More Fish finger than Gold Finger.

I prefer Casino Royal and how that kept true to the original books..

“Skyfall” has several cheesy one liners and original quotes associated with the early films.. If that’s what you like out of your Bond film, then you’ll like this film.

They tried to give the viewer a bit of history about Bond, which is cool if you haven’t read the books, but I wanted to know what happened to Bonds Mum & Dad when he was a boy ??

All in all its worth a trip the cinema, because you won’t get the benefits of the special effects from a Bond film at home.

PS: You’ll be pleased to know that was a CGI Aston….. Phew !:)

I personally thought it was a great movie, but not a great Bond movie. I'm not happy about destroying that DB6. I hope they ruined some fake on a Corvette chassis.
