Formerly WYD OPN
I've begun working with an importer, but would welcome info/resources related to the process/costs of bringing bikes "across the pond" from Europe. One is track-only, other(s) would be registered.
THANX! All greatly helpful and in line with what I'm finding. The Veltro won't/can't be registered in the US, so that part won't be an issue. This only applies to race bikes you want to import.
Race bikes are exempt, but you will have to take pics of the bike and send them to the epa. They want to see all lights mirrors removed, and in full race ready attire... if you can provide that info to the epa then you can import with no problem.
Thanx! By referral, I've found someone who seems to have ALL the hook-ups for importation. Everything is exactly as you say, and roadbikes evidently won't be a problem either, if I ever locate a Strada. It's just a different procedure. Greatly appreciated!Nope he shouldn't. It does not require a customs bond to enter the country so there should be no issues at all. Just when the Customs paperwork is filled out make sure you get the appropriate letters form EPA, and DOT. The Veltro was made for the track, and is considered a racing bike so I would expect EPA, and DOT to be pretty easily convinced.
Hope this helps
In my 3+ years on various forums, I have yet to post a single pic of ANYTHING. I guess that comes from me being a cranky, lazy, ole-school, analog "unit".make sure to post up pics when/if you get the bike
