Has anyone tried connecting your heated gear into the charging connection under the passenger seat?

Would it work? or is that a bad idea?

My vest connection matches the battery tender plug. Use it all the time. Its so much better riding comfortably!
As long as your accessories plus your bike aren't pulling more power than your bikes charging system can generate you shouldn't have an issue, otherwise your second start might be a jump start :)

Might also be good practice to plug in once the bike is running to give the bike full use of the battery for starting.

Yup. My vest has an on/off switch. Always leave it off until I can ride w decent revs. Once running, Ive had heated grips on high and the vest on without issue.

I have also installed a LED voltage meter that changes colour.

Hows the weather on the Island? It's freezing temperature here on the lower mainland...

Cold but clear. Ice in my little fountain, so no riding for me today.
I need leather with built in air-conditioning (Cooling) instead. Good advice from Reckler.
