Greetings Rivale Owners!

I just got my bike delivered yesterday. We still have tons of snow here so it will be another month or so before I try it out. I'm selling my R1 Yamaha so looking forward to adjusting to this new ride. A dumb first question, is there a trick to removing the seat, or do you just pull on the back hard? The Manual just states to pull if off, not sure if I'm missing something.

Thanks
Robb

Welcome to the family, Robb!!
Most MV seats require you to push down on the back whilst turning the key to allow the latch to release. Then the seat pops up and you take it off. You should not have to force anything.
Didn't the dealer demonstrate this during your delivery orientation?? The salesman should have gone over the whole bike with you to make sure you understood all the controls and features.....like setting the clock or trip meters....and removing the seat!
Did you get the battery tender?
Anyway, hope spring gets there soon so you can go riding. It's been a cold winter!

Welcome to the forum Robb. I'm pretty sure the key/lock is on the r/h side of the bike, just below the tank, this is purely judging by the pictures I've seen.

PS. Don't worry too much about the snow, apparently the Rivale can do snow. :)

You should show Carl this one Randy :naughty:

Congrats. This is one of the funnest bikes I've ridden in the past 20 years. You'll be smiling ear to ear the first time you get on it!

The Key'd seat release is under the left side of the tank.

Awesome! Thanks for all your feedback everyone. I figured out that seat, I had the duh moment. Should get on it next week with all my new gear. It will be an adjustment from my R1 but looking forward to it even with gravely roads here in MN!

Donsy, is that your winter Rivale? That is bad ass!

Yeh Donsy I reckon the closest WA gets to snow is when someone opens a freezer, you'd be with sand tyres I would think over that side of the country
