G'day,

Came off the motorway on the way home from work this arvo and couldn't feel the gear lever to change. Stuck in between 3rd and 4th it appeared. Got it home and couldn't get any movement for a while. Disconnected the rear sets and put the standard lever back on. Jiggled around and can get all gears and neutral but there is no return in the lever either up or down. Feels a bit tight and notchy in the shaft as well.

So it looks like a broken spring in the gearbox or selectors. Any ideas or tips in getting to and fixing the problem? I have a manual and will investigate shortly. Any special tools/equipment/tricks needed to remove the clutch etc.?

Gearbox woes

G'day,

As suspected a broken spring. Included a few pics to add to Eddie's very useful and informative ones for those poor souls that follow. Just have to wait for the parts now.

Cheers

MV replaced that spring on our 2010 1090RR as a recall item...for free.
