Hey Everyone,

Seeing as I went through the process recently of exchanging my fun two seater (ND Miata) for a more family oriented car, I was wondering what other members are driving their families round in?

I ended up convincing my wife that a Focus RS "minivan" would fit the bill. So far, it has been a fantastic car!

Hi Michael
very cool car, quite popular in our neck of the woods all the way down in Australia. Especially in that blue. Last year i bought a 90 na miata mx5 to go along with my Nc miata in that colour and i hated it. Too cheap to pass up. Within a week i was loving it.. It just popped. Everywhere i went i was seeing volvos and the rs and what we have as a ford falcon in the exact same colour and so i knew that my na was quite in fact modern. I end up selling the na within 6 months cos i got a silly offer for it too good to pass. Not a day day doesn't go by that i don't miss seeing that jelly bean in my driveway.

congrats mate enjoy that beauty.

Awesome cars! I will always have a soft spot in my heart for my miata. Such a fun, inexpensive car to run! I would have kept it if our family size hadn't changed.

I had it all prepped for track as well, minus the roll cage:

I never really liked the Nd at first, but now i get it. As u can see by my post above evidently I am slow lol. So much so when I bought my first Na in 96 a 93 Brg model that came with a Nardi woodgrain steering wheel I wanted it removed. What an idiot I was. If they brought out a Nd in ur rs colour id be on to that in a second.

You sir have great taste in cars as well as ur bikes

I like the RS, but always prefered the Honda hot hatch as they are called over here in the UK, i just sold my 2010 Typre R FN2 last of the non turbo R's great car. I traded it for a Boxster which i am lapping up. Luckily the 'family' have grown up and moved out, just me and the missus.

chris u legend man... stunnninng car mate. Wrapped for u. Loved the boxser. Even though i went for the mx5.

I know this aint going to make any sense at all loo, but for some reason i keep thinking ur like early 30s now or younger. U and I have been chatting since 2004 when i first pmd u about the rear view camera u had on yr f4 and u sent me the link to where u bought it and i bought it too... and so now when i see u have the boxster, i think thats so cool for such a young bloke lol

Here's mine, replaced a couple of vehicles with one big sledgehammer of a car. Unfortunately though, it means that I don't have an MV yet :(

It's too nice to use daily though, so I have a now 10 year old Hilux (Invincible 200bhp edition -RWD, massive torque, lsd & no weight over rear axle, no TC rubbish either) for daily duty, which I love. We have a dog now too so it's perfect.

The Merc has only done 6k miles in 2 years and about 5 times that in depreciation! ;) .

Well you europeans get all the fun cars that the US never gets. It was a goddamn miracle that we got the RS for a few years lol.

Nice choices!

What model is this Nito? I don’t think we get this one in the US. Y’all get all the fun practical, non-SUVs that never come to the US. The Audi RS6 wagon also comes to mind :(

But you in the States have all the fun V8 muscle cars and trucks that we don't get.
Hope that changes sometime in the future, both ways.
Bloody regulations and nonsense...

Mike,

It’s a CLS63S AMG Shooting Brake 5.5L V8 BiTurbo. 585bhp/590lbs/ft from the factory. (Mercs equiv to the RS6, it’s incredibly rare here, you guys get the ‘sedan’ version stateside but not the Shooting Brake.)

With RWD and an LSD, it is the last of the big V8 old school Hammer Wagons as Mercedes moves to smaller engines and 4matic everywhere. 0-60 is 4.1, derestricted it’s good for 190mph and its a remap and some exhaust components away from 720bhp/792lbs/ft if one wants. This was one of the last produced.

Cheers
Nito

Focus RS will be a good buy because they aren't making them anymore, however they ride like a covered wagon unfortunately with that track tuned suspension.
