So I just noticed that the F4 1000 calls for 96 octane fuel minimum. The only thing we have around here is 93 and 94 EXCEPT for one spot 10 minutes from my house. It sells VP HP 100 at the pump. Its normally $3 per litre BUT for some reason they are selling it for $ .50 right now. Its unleaded, oxygenated and 100 octane. Is this stuff safe for my stock 2005 F4 1000?

Different rating system then standard shown on Canadian pumps. Use non ethanol Esso Extra, Shell V-Plus, Ultramar, Cosco or Canadian Tire premium 91 and you should be good. The 100 octane for 50 cents a litre is a bargain but should be used in engines tuned to take advantage of it.

Try to stay away from ethanol if you can.
