A few days ago my beloved TV 800 has anounced a new issue on its dashboard: FRONT SPEED

When it happens, after some seconds a new warning message appears: ABS STOP ENGINE

Do you know what is it this issue? Any idea about it?

Many thanks

Your front wheel speed sensor is sending a bad, or no reading to the ABS/ECU..... Did you recently get a new front tire???

Damage to the sensor or sensor ring on the wheel from clumsy techs is usually the cause. Have a look.... also check the electrical connection to the sensor and look for debris on the sensor.

All that happens is your ABS is no longer functioning (fail safe mode).

Yes indeed, I changed my wheels a monyh ago. Do you have a picture or a diagram of this sensor? I'll check it. Thanks !!

There is a slotted ring on the wheel inside the brake rotor that triggers a pulse in the sensor. The sensor is a small electrical device attached to the fork or brake caliper that should be positioned just a small distance away from the sensor ring on the wheel.

Find the electrical wire running down to your front brake calipers (one of them, not sure which side) and there you will find the sensor. If you changed wheels, did you install the sensor ring?

Ed;
You know what happens.......
The lowest paid guy in the shop, changes the tires and puts the tire on the rim backwards
When he mounts the wheel, he sees the mistake, because most MV wheels are symmetrical, he flips the wheel

Ergo, the ring and sensor are on opposite sides and sensor doesn't work

Easy to spot an hapless wrench with two left hands and 10 thumbs.
Harder to spot the rotation arrow on front Pirelli Scorpio tires. No such arrow exist on this very tire.
or TV rim.

On the TV only half of the wheels :nerd2: have symmetry.

The speed sensor is hidden well recessed behind the left front brake caliper holder.

This sensor might have suffered in a tire change.
Or the phonic wheel made of thin cheap crap metal could be out of alignement.

Variable gap to the sensor won't improve reading the signal.

A visit to the Carrer València shop could be a fix, a lot better than a web diagnostic,
however qualified.
