I'm removing my original mirror/indicators from my 1090R and putting bar-end mirrors directly onto the factory bar end weights. I'm looking for options to replace the front indicators. At the moment I'm leaning towards drilling holes into the headlight bracket and putting indicators (maybe some nice flush-mounts) up there. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

The reason I'm not really looking at bar end indicators is because I want to retain the original bar end weights and use my bar end mirrors on them.

I'm actually experimenting with a few things and have already drilled my bars and test fitted some bar end blinkers, but I don't think this is the direction I want to go.

I got the BMW K1300R LED rear turn signals and a couple of conversion jumper wires from an online company,
then it was plug and play.
I made 2 metal brackets out of stainless sheet and bolted to the fork triple clamp bolts,
looks great low profile everything works as advertised.

My mirror choice is less than I expected as the mirrors are a lil bit smaller than I wanted.
I like the quality though well made and the mirrors are blue tinted.

All of this due to water damaging the left factory turn signal lamp assembly, it stopped the left side turn signal from flashing.

The right side worked, I took it apart only to find its not really made to come apart, thus it was ruined a new mirror lamp is about 225.00.

I got the new bar ends mirrors for 65.00

I am not sure what the defect is probably too bright for the USA these are very bright lamps and work great
I have a 2 sets one on the rear of my 2010 K1300 S and the the others are on the front of my 2013 MV 109RR Brutale
Best bet get the china knock offs. they are only 22.00

The jumper wires 25.00. these convert the BMW connector to the MV Agusta connector.
NOTE make sure you get the BMW signals the aftermarket copy might not be as good.

I drilled the holes. Triple checked my measurements and went for it. Not a great pic but...

Rizoma Zero. Brembo RCS is a recent upgrade on both brake and clutch. Really transformed the brake feel.

I did same as @UnaRosa and used the Rizoma indicators.

just a thought, has anyone tried modding the led's in the instrument bucket to become blinkers ? hmmm wonder if I can find a wrecked one to play with.

I had the same thought, but I tested it and the design of the lens means the light comes out far too dim to work as an indicator in my opinion.

higher power led may fix that problem, I need to pull one apart and look closer, higher power amber led to overpower the running light white could work if it will fit...

I really like this...would love someone to take up the project with their 1090RR ...I could if I could find a 1090 shroud to replace my 990R one - I might look at the project?

All of this sounds quite interesting but I am keeping mine as is for now. US has a Daytime Running Light (headlight) for motorcycles, so my headlamp is on every time I ride and its always on high beam in the day time. So the lamps inside instrument cover are not necessary for here, hence the adaptation to signal lamps. IMO, if they were intended as DRL they should be bright enough to be used as turn signals.
