Anybody following F1??

I am a long time fan, but actually lost a little bit of interest the last couple of years. Don't like the new engine configuration. It's not supposed to be the Toyota Prius cup...

Of course it's nice that we have a Dutchman with potential for the first time :D

I'm still watching it Erik.. Today's race in Bahrain wasn't to bad...

A few cool over take moves during the race...

I really like some of the colour schemes used on this years 2016 cars.. I wouldn't mind doing my F4 in the McLaren colours.. Super cool titanium gunmetal black !

Oh, the McLaren is already beautiful for many years! The matt on the RB is also very nice.

Indeed, the race today was good! Also well done for the newcomers Haas!

I follow when I have the time. It has become a bit boring.

I used to think that but at least the latest crop of hypercars has added a bit of justification to the hybrid elements. Why on earth it uses V6, the most boring configuration of them all in my humble opinion, I dont like that.

My view at the moment is that Mercedes are leagues ahead of everyone else, obviously, and what is boring for me is that hamilton has consistantly outgunned Rosberg his entire career from karting days. I'd like to see more of a challenge in the other Mercedes car instead of Rosberg, maybe Ricciardo, although a lot of great drivers on the grid to choose.

However....
That all veing said Rosberg is slowly destroying this theory every race since after Texas last year...

Hasn't Rosberg won the last five F1 races since late last year?

I'd say that Mercedes is no longer "leagues ahead" anymore. Ahead? Yes, but no longer is the outcome a forgone conclusion. Ferrari is just a tick behind, and Honda, of all teams, has closed the gap by over four seconds per lap versus last year. I wouldn't bet against Mercedes, but again, I think this year's competition will be much tighter.

I think the sport is slowly killing itself with the current management structure and the pace of adapting to a changing world.

What the fans want to see is closer competition but the change to hybrid systems have only widened the gap between factory and independent teams. Limiting development / changes within the year does not allow this gap to be closed as well.

Mandating tyre usage (you have to use one of each kind during a race etc) is adding to spectator confusion since you need a degree to work out who is on what and the impact of that on the eventual end result.

I like pit stops and the variability that it brings.

What i want to see is more overtaking, closer racing with performance between the teams closer than current. Surely they can devise some rules that could make this possible.

Bring back the 1980's system, where Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet, Jones, Villeneuve,Andretti, Fittipaldi, Mass, Patrese, Rosberg Sn and the likes would sit in the pits to the very last second and then all go hell for leather, until the fastest got pole position.

Them where the days!

Agree - so far so good.
The MB head of racing went out with a statement trying to suppress the "conspiracy theory" (against Hamilton). What a joke. Never been a Hamilton fan. He may be good, but he's not in a class of his own like a Senna or Schumacher. I sincerely hope Rosberg wins this year, the boy also got a way cleaner and more likeable image than "LA Ink" :)

So what about the Verstappen move to RBR?

I say vd Mark to Yamaha or Honda and the Dutch are on a role ;)

He gets third in the previous race and then gets demoted. Bit off a rum deal really. Anyway, the Verstappen is better so they just needed an excuse to swap him to the A team. Riccardo will teach Verstappen some humility though I'd say.
