I've wanted a Brutale since I first saw them in 2001 at the IMS show...
Fast forward a bunch of years and motorcycles and I rekindled my desire for a Brutale after moving to the Bay Area in CA. I was lightly perusing the ads online for bikes and had been searching for Brutales for sale in the state. Google really has taken a turn for the worse with what search returns are generated these days and hardly anything was coming up that wasn't paid adverts, i.e. Cycletrader.
Then I switched to DuckDuckGo real quick just to see what it might show and lo and behold I saw my next bike, a 2010 Brutale 990R for sale - with only 1282 miles on it (the poor thing).
It was on consignment at Santa Clara Cycle Accessories for a decent price (which was knocked down a good bit before I took it home).
Now she is in my garage waiting for new shoes -as the ones on there are the originals and I don't trust them one bit - they are hard as rocks from all the standing in the windows/sun and not moving much in 8 years (9 and 10 years since their production dates actually).
I'm super excited. She joins our other Italian bikes and Austrian bikes in the garage: My Elefant 900, My Wife's Ducati 750Sie, my Ktm 450 EXC, and her KTM Duke 390, and XT225.
