It's Here!

*UPDATE*. My bike is at the cargo terminal!!!!!

Yeah, I know...the title stinks but I wanted to let everyone know I finally purchased an MV Agusta F4! I ordered it from Heinens in MN and was notified it was to be put on the truck (in the MV crate) today, 2 Apr. It should be here by the weekend!

I won't get into to much of the details until the bike is actually here. I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone! I'll post pictures as soon as I can!:yo:

Congratulations :yo:

You should have posted this thread in the F4 section, as it would have attracted more attention but no biggie.

When you do get it, start a new thread in the F4 with pics and your impressions, I think everyone will be really interested in that, I certainly will be.

Congratulations again - just keep counting down those hours! :)

The good folks at Towne Air Freight - Dulles, say the truck carrying my bike should be there any minute. The plan was I was to go to the terminal with my neighbor in his truck so I could break down the (MV) box, load it in the truck and ride the bike home...but my neighbor is out of town for the holidays so I'm left trying to find another way. The shipping company say they can deliver it on Monday...but I don't want to wait!!! LOL

I could give up the MV box, but I'm in the military and figure it will come in handy the next time Uncle Sam decides he wants me somewhere else.

Decisions Decisions!

Another update-

Was tracking the bike via the shipping company's website. Around 4 pm yesterday the site said "hold for notification" so I thought it must have arrived and they were trying to reach me so I could come pick it up. Loaded up a few tools and the family and excitedly drove to the shipping company to find I misinterpreted the status. Disappointed, I drove back home.

This morning, I checked the site again and the status changed to something along the lines of arrived. This time I called the company, gave them my tracking number to confirm arrival and to see what time they closed. They checked their computer and said it was here and they would be closing at three. I called up my buddy then rented a trailer ($45) and happily drove back to the shipping company.

Upon my arrival I presented my tracking number. The attendant left to go find my box. 10 minutes later he returns and says "I don't see it, did anyone tell you it was here?". I said yes, so the attendant looked in his computer again and then walked back out to the warehouse. Another few minutes pass and he returns....still no sign of my bike. He tells me his computer says it should be there, but it's not. He said he would notify the head office and the he felt confident they would "find" it by Monday.

I'm a little to old to get freaked out and bent out of shape, but I'm very disappointed and worried that the bike may have been stolen (it's the kind of luck I have).

Now I wonder if the shipping company will comp home delivery of my bike ($51.50) since I spent that and more on trailer rental and gas....
I'm not holding my breath.

I'm sad
