Yes ebike are who I'm with at the mo. I'm about the same age as you Billy and both my F4 and my ST4s Duke cost me about £450 with ebike. Full Comp and the excess isn't stupid either.

Forgot to say:

when i was first looking for a quote and put a value of £12k on the bike no insurance company would look at it, drop the value bellow the £12k - even £11999 and you start getting quotes.

Insurance seems like a HUGE issue/business in Europe. You don't see anything in the back of European motorcycle mags except insurance companies....why is that??? here in the US rags, it's the opposite, aside from the occasional Geico ad or progressive ad...

thanks for all your help, managed to get it insured for £606 fully comp with breakdown and legal cover from mce,the stupid thing is that it is with the same company equity red star that quoted me £10,029 through autonet.i dont get it, 2 companies would not insure me at any price because they said it was a modified bike.

That is highway robbery, mate. Is is always that expensive in the UK?
I pay $265 every six months for mine, and I am not exactly the poster child for motorcycle safety. :king:

I pay about £340 fully-comprehensive for my two bike policy, which covers my F4 and Ducati 748. (I'm 35, own home, I have 12 years no claims and 3 points, (now six, but 3 at last renewel), no criminal history.) £12000? Man, that's rediculous... (but maybe they think that with only having a licence 8 months there's a near 100% chance you'll trash it within the period of their cover.)

Blade, do you get the full coverage? i saw that. it's expensive. I have yet to find someplace that will give me a multiple bike discount.....

though i think i should get the full coverage, now that i've had a friend talk to me about insurance options.... hmmmm.

great to here all is sorted, sometimes for first few years you have to bite the bullet and pay the price, after that you can shop around more.

I got it through Bennetts, but the under-writer is Equity Red Star. The agent at Bennetts did seem surprised that they could cover two high-group bikes on the same policy as it normally only covers one high-group bike and a lesser one. Both mine are group 17 I think. And I only pay the premium for the highest value bike. i.e. to insure the MV alone with Equity Red Star would be £340, so I get the 748 on it with no increase in premium. (Previously the 748 was costing me just over £200 fully comp with Bennetts.)

Yeah Colin I get the full coverage guy, however I have heard some companies in Japan dont include theft in there either. Not sure why. I keep my MV inside the house, and I have a security system with motion sensors going on when Im out.

well everyone knows the UK is known as rip off Britain, anything you can think off, is double the price over here from fuel to homes, then the tax in top
