Anybody aware of any tuning being done to the newer Euro 4 engines on the F3's ?

The thing is that they pretty much perform the same as the previous models while reducing emmissions by half.
We all know that this isn't an easy task and that emmision system rob HP so to me it sounds that with tuning the engines could perform even better if you disregard the Euro 4 regulations.

Anybody know anything about ECU tuning on these newer engines ?

For ECU Tuning contact Luca from ECU Studio.
He has MV OEM racing mappings.



I discovered Euro 4 manifolds on Brutales to be crap - pipe diameter 35 mm vs 40 mm on Euro 3. 30% less flow area.
Cat now is 400 cpsi, used to be 100 in Euro3 Model I guess
Do not know on F3s so.

Hi, I know that ECU Studio have ROM's (racing) for the Euro4 F3 675 & 800

I will contact Luca and will locally also keep an eye out.
Read the ECU Studio thread but it looks like it has been kinda inactive lately as the lastest posts date from almost 2 years ago.

Interesting to hear that maybe the headers and cat on the Euro 4 F3 might also be limited.
I doesn't surprise me since any manufacturer is bound by rules if they wish to sell new bikes in the EU. Surprised it still makes the same HP on the 675 version ! They must have improved the engine dramatically to achieve this.

Looks like the F3 used to have a better flow due to less angles from the get go.
You can clearly see the larger cat on the Euro 4 version of the B3 manifold.

Curious to see how the F3 euro 4 now looks.

It's a good thing there are several nice aftermarket manifolds and they don't cost the world compared to some exhausts.
We luckily don't have annual MOT/Tüv checks so I can do pretty much do what I want as far as emmisions bare concerned. As long as the Db levels are within reason I should be fine.

Emailed Luca and I am curious what he has to say about all this.

Did you get any more information regarding this from Luca?


Also, isn't the catalysator embedded in the stock exhaust pipes? The manifold where the pipes meet in the pictures here seems way too small for an effective catalysator.

I've just rebuilt an euro 3 675 engine with euro 4 inlet camshaft, it will be a few weeks before it's on the Dyno will let you know the difference
