I went for a short ride today, and as I pulled into the university to do some work on the way home, the rear tyre went completely flat. Not fun at all! Luckily, I managed to get it into the uni carpark, which was empty. I'm also on a forum called PerthStreetBikes, and there's a guy on there who runs a towing business, but also goes to the rescue of fellow bikers on the forum. He rode out 30km (about 20 miles) on his Hyabusa, and patched two punctures in the tyre. We then rode to the nearest servo, and he hung around chatting for a good hour just to make sure that the tyre was properly patched and didn't lose any more air. Then to top it all, he wouldn't take any more than $50 for all his time and effort - although I did talk him into letting me buy him a coke.

It's nice to know that there are still plenty of good people left in the world...
