[NC Brutale]

How hot does your bike run and how can I tell what my temps are? My gauge is on the bottom right (left of TC indicator). It has three segments and each segment has three bars. I am getting up into the 7 of 9 bar territory. Sorry if I’m not explaining well - any insight would be helpful.

This is very helpful - thank you for the quick reply. I recently threw slip on’s on the bike and the bike is performing great but the temp gauge seems high (hadn’t paid close attention prior to install).

I have a 2020 Brutale 800RR with the same dash. In normal riding only the first four segments of the temp gauge are illuminated. In slower riding it goes up to five and in stop start riding in the summer it got up to six but never any higher.

Thanks Colin - I’m guessing the slip on has me running a little leaner than it comes from factory which is what has me staying up at the 6 bars (went up to 7 in stop and go). It was cool out this morning. Forum seems mixed on whether getting a tune is necessary - throttle and power feels great so I’m conflicted.

Stop worrying !!! For some reason MV owners obsess about operating temperatures.
Normal operating temps for modern high performance motorcycle coolant is 190° F ~ 210°F
If you must know what the bar graph means then get an infra-red temperature gun and shoot the coolant hose from the engine to the radiator (coolant return hose) for a good approximation.

Yeah.... we here in the "New World" seem determined to stick with inches, yards and "F".... I prefer the metric system for most things, but my addled old brain still has trouble converting F to C.

At least we don't use "Stones" and "Hands"...
