Discussion Starter #1
I just replaced my battery. As soon as I connected the battery all lights and the fan came on. The ignition switch doesn't seem to make difference whether it is on or not. Also nothing happens when I press the starter button regardless of the key being turned or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Model?
If it is an F4 there are quite a few threads about battery polarity and positioning. Also which cables are connected to which terminal.

Look closely at the battery. It lies on the side in the bike. Is the red lead connected to the battery positive (+) terminal?

If you connect the battery with reverse polarity the SPU will freak out giving you the kind of symptoms you described.

With the symptoms you describe my first thought was you reversed the polarity.
As the other folks mentioned these symptons are SPU related.
Have a look at your SPU, is it a "blueback" ??

Also check the fuse, could be blown while connecting the battery.

Cheers,
