Hi all! After almost two years of not riding my Brutale... I am trying to get her back on the road! It's a long story...

My right side blinkers are not working. It's not the bulbs or the fuse, those were the first things I checked. I disconnected and re-connected everything from the ECU and the fuse box but that did not change anything. The left blinkers work just fine.

Also, the headlight does not seem to be switching from high to low. Does anyone know if there has to be resistance (i.e. bulbs) for it to switch from high to low (and vice versa)? I am measuring the voltage at the plug and it does not change.

Not sure if this is my ECU or how I can check it... I miss my Brutale I would really appreciate any help! Thank you!

Hey bud, search on SPU, your bike almost definitely needs a new one. Startwin trading is your best option.

Cheers

Wow... Is there any way to test the SPU before buying a new one? That baby is not cheap. I'm not great with electrical stuff.

The SPU that is currently in the bike:

03/07/03-344-00028

The fuses have a bunch of hot glue around them. I believe the previous owner had an issue with the SPU and this was their resolution. I am not sure of that though.

Yeah I saw his post about the SPU/VIN, no worries there. I'm just wondering if there is some way to test my old one. Or maybe the test is... if your right side blinkers and headlight do not work, it's broken. Haha.

The best way is to have a mate handy with a good one and test it.... but given our issues, I think its definitely the cause of your problems.

Mate of mine here in NZ went through the process about 8 weeks ago. Yes, we could test his as I gave him mine for a 10 min run....all the problems went away. I believe it took less than 10 days from order to doorstop down here so they do offer a great service.

Spidi, they're not cheap. But I can tell you that the NZ Parts dealer quoted me NZD $2500 about 4 years ago....so what people are paying now is much more appropriate. (I bought mine from a previous forum sponsor ...landed it cost me NZD $600 - very very reasonable in those days the FX exchange).

She'll feel like a new bike with the new SPU... you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Cheers
