I just changed the oil in the B3 for the first time (580 miles on the odometer. ~930 kilometers). Just as a "head's up" I took a quick peek at all the bolts when I bought the bike and thought, "Great, everything for an oil change is an allen wrench (hex head)." This weekend I noticed that the screws holding in the filter cover are Torx. I used my allen wrenches and was VERY careful to keep from rounding anything, but I'll need to get a set of Torx wrenches and sockets for this bike.

Anyway......I expected to see a good amount of "fur" (metal shavings)on the sump drain plug magnet and I did. There was actually a bit more than I expected. Just wondering what everyone else discovered at their first oil change. Anyone take pics?

Also wanted to add......The manual says 2.5kg of oil. What an odd spec for the oil amount. A quick google search yielded a .87kg per liter conversion factor for oil. So, 2.5kg of oil converts to 2.87 liters. I put in 2.8 liters with a new filter and it looks good on the dipstick. In this consistent with what others have experienced?

I done an oil and filter change at 175 miles and at 650. Yes there was some muck on the magnet but that is normal on new bikes. Yes they are torx fittings and easily confused with allen bolts, not a fan of torx fittings so my bike now has titanium allen head replacements. The 600 mile service is a dealer to check the bolts are tight safety thing, I will be changing my oil and filter again at 2.5k miles. That is just me, I like to change oil more frequently than the service schedule.
