So I'm (once again) debating trying to find a set of RG3's for my F4 1000S. I'm curious if there's a difference (other than material and color) between RG3's made between years, and for different displacements. i.e., am I going to be restricting flow by using an RG3 sold for a 750 on my 1000, or possibly running lean if I use a set made for a 1078? Or are they more or less the same diameters and flow rate on the inside? Or is it a moot point and they'll all flow better than DOT exhaust and I shouldn't worry?

Yeah, already have an eprom for RG3 with catless link pipe from Adam (have the link pipe, but DOT cans). It runs way better than the OE tune, but does seem a tad rich at times with the stock mufflers.

I'm slightly partial to the look of the OE square-cut bronze mufflers I have now, but I wouldn't kick a slash-cut out of bed for eating crackers. :grin2:

Huh? I have no admiration for dogs' 'dangly bits'. In fact, I have very little admiration for my own. Considering going to Thailand for one of those 'transgender' ops - might have a bit of Caitlin Jenner action going on to achieve the smooth look:grin2:
I've got a couple show dogs whose dangly bits are admired fairly frequently. Judged, even. Also not much a fan of having them on the back of the MV though. :grin2:

So I did search, and the only thing that came up were threads talking about the differences between RG3 and DOT, which is not what I'm talking about. Trust me, I'd much rather have found my answer days ago. lol If something's this common, maybe it should be a sticky? I can't find it anywhere.

While I am not an expert on the pipes, I do soundly believe that RG3 is RG3 is RG3. Headers may differ from 750 to 1000cc displacement, but the organ pipes are functionally the same.

The performance gains from RG3s over stock are marginal anyway. You get RG3s for better sound and still having that factory look. If you want power look elsewhere. There is a thread in here somewhere comparing the RG3's to other aftermarket options. BUT I have not seen one on differences between RG3 sets. I would suggest it is negligible, akin to splitting hairs.

@Nastin: Member Donsy did a comparison of pipe in a thread quite a while ago. Use ADVANCED SEARCH, You might be able to find it.
