Hi all. I have a friend with a 2010 F4 1000R who is having a problem with his instrument panel.
The issue started as an irregular failure, at first it would stay blank with just the back light and no numbers or any data (except the reserve or neutral light), but at one point the whole thing just died, the bike kept on running until he turned it off, currently the bike does not fire up no more.
Has anyone had a similar issue? Will he need to have the whole instrument cluster replaced? Is there anything else he could check?
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.:crying::crying:
Kind regards.-

not sure about the 2010 but the 2013+ bikes the immobiliser is controlled by the dash. If the dash is not working then it would not fire up on 2013+ anyway.

That is correct. We assumed that one issue was related to the other. What we really wanted to know was if anyone here has experiented this issue before and if so, what action was taken. I´m trying to save my buddy some money because buying a new instrument panel here between custom taxes and shipping expenses it would be way over a grand of the american "pesos" hehe
Besides, I suspect that there is going to be much more involved than just a simple "plug and play" once we get the new piece. There is probably going te be some programing to be done.

I kind of remember someone having similar issue in the past. For what I remember he tested all the soldering points and found one that were with bad connection.

For a new dash you probably will have to program the key code on it. Not sure how it work on Mv, but I had a Ducati before (also magneti marelli) and the VDST from technoresearch were able to do it.

@NICO312RR - Have you done any troubleshooting?

Have you removed the dash, cleaned the contacts on the multipin connector and then replaced the dash?

Then a point-to-point electrical check is in order...
