Hello,

I was out for a ride early morning enjoying the view and the sound nearly 50 kms from home and see the battery light on the dash come on :wtf: ..... a few more kms and the bike sounded like it was dying out. A bit further and the dash suddenly goes completely blank :wtf::wtf: :banghead:and I start freaking out ..... bike dies a bit later. :bawling: Tried to push start as I was in the middle of nowhere. The bike started but went 400m and shut down again. Switched off the ignition and tried to start it a bit later. Dash comes on but as soon as I hit the ignition it goes off.... tried that a few times with gaps in between but still the same. I have a brand new battery.
Was lucky to enough to find a pickup that help me tow the bike back home. Now before I take it to a workshop, would like to know what can cause this and where should I start looking as there is no MV workshop here and everything would be trial and error.

What year is the bike?

I had an 06 910 Brutale that did that. It was the alarm. A wire broke on the alarm (Datatool 3) ripped the alarm off and all ok. Sometime later the CPU went. Not long after that the bike did.
I stuck with the mans Bike (F4 just in case you were wondering) swopped the Brute for a Ducati

Sounds like the battery isn't charging. Display is failing because the starter is pulling a lot of juice. So probably a busted battery or something with the alternator. Check the fuses to.
