Hi,

I have decided to take my F4 1000R from 2008 on a track day for the first time.

As it is designed for track, it should see it and not the road.

But first I need to buy some protections in case of a fall.

What have you on you bikes?

I have seen some protections for the sides but I don't want to cut or drill on my panels. Is there any crash protection that can be placed without the need of drilling on them?

I want also some for the front rims.

If you have pics it would help me and also the sites where you have bought them.

Cheers,
-m

Thx, those are the ones I am exactly looking for my front axle.

I don't want to drill on my panels so i was thinking of something like these in the pic.

Have to say that your bike looks tight Phil. Love the paint job.

Someone else asked this question a while ago. I have used, frequently I'm afraid, the frame sliders that go mid frame. I forget who makes them. A german company I think. You get the sliders, an extra long rod, to go through the engine and frame, washers and nuts. They work quite well. I would also get a pair of the little frame plugs that go under the fairings, where the the engine cylinder head attaches to the frame. These plugs are standard on the Brutale.

In all the times I've low sided, there has never been any damage to the forks and I don't have sliders in the front axle.

i just took the plugs from the brutale, which are attached
to main frame bolt connected to the cylinder. they fit
nicely under the fairing. just add a little of soft padding
to the side panels as they may could rub through
the side panels.

and just dont crash ;)

PS: i did not crash so far, so no experience how well it will perform

Hi thx for the infos'
If this site is not trustable where have you all bought your protections?

Saddly I have knowledge of what it feels to crash.
Not on a MV or racebike but on a enduro and crossbike.

I was doing 140km/h on a race and there was two puddles, passed the first one without a problem, then came straightaway the second one.

My engine had some problems when passing it with a small wheeling, saddly there was a hole in the puddle and my front wheel got stock into it and I flew over the bar at 140km/h.

I fell down straight on my head. In conclusion I had to spend 6 months in the hospital with the thorax open (helmet hit it), neck bones C3, C4, C5 where tassed and a crack on my C4 cervical.

And the bike was totally distroyed.

Since then I have to drive more carefully and now that I have the joy of riding a F4, and going to race with it I don't want to distroy it.

I have bought items from evolutionbike.it but they don't seem to have those carsh protection.
So where can I find them....
