I've just posted some pix of the comet that's currently visible from the west coast of Australia into my album for those interested. My apologies for the low quality - I might try it again tomorrow night and see if I can improve things a little.

If you want to see exactly where it was taken, copy and paste the following into the search bar of Google Earth and it'll take you straight there:

31°45'52.43"S, 115°43'59.87"E

If you're REALLY interested, this is the park near where I live, which is very close by: :)

31°46'41.47"S, 115°44'48.88"E

Yep - get Google earth. It's free, and all you need to do is enter the coordinates in the search box.

Attention amateur astronomers!

Recent analysis of the Comet McNaught trail has revealed it contains asteroid McZero. Which was has been traced to left-over fragments planet McGoose-Egg after it was struck by the asteroid McBagel.

Would they be from the McZip sector?
