Hi lads is there any easy way to fit my hugger or do i have to remove the rear wheel.I only have the bike a while & did not really want to remove the rear wheel especially with the rear wheel hub problems i keep hearing about.Thanks

You wont need to disturb the hub when removing the rear wheel.
Its much easier to get to the 3 little fixing bolts for the hugger.

As far as removing the wheel...Its one nut..clockwise to undo.

It's as Joe said.....just remove the rear wheel

given the clearance it would be hard to do otherwise

Fitted mine without removing the wheel, fiddly but not impossible. Took about 15 minutes. This was on a 920 don't know if the earlier bikes have less clearance.

Mine is a 09 989R and i keep trying to convince myself it can be done but there is just so little space.There surely cant be much of a difference between your bike and mine so if you can do it then surely i can also.

Thanks Joe i will probably have to give in and take off the wheel but i will give it one more go.

Have no idea if there are more links on 920 chain but my bike was brand new with less than 200 miles on the clock so no stretch on the chain, as a maintenance engineer I have an advantage in being used to working in tight difficult to reach places.
