I can't speak for the 3 cylinder platforms. On the 4 cylinder bikes I have worked on you can remove the headers, but it is very tight and difficult. Especially so with the one piece headers/cat.
You must, at the very least, remove the mountings so you can move the radiator forward.
Much easier to just drain the coolant and take it off.

The first steps in the manual for the 800 series bikes ask you to drain the coolant and remove the radiator. It is very tight in that area. While it may be possible, like ED says, the aggravation of working in tight quarters and the risk of damage would be greater.

Thanks guys. Will do that. Just changed the water wetter coolant at the end of the season so was simply trying to not be wasteful. But yes, DEF not worth it if it will mess up the radiator.

Drain into a clean container and put it back in !! You don't have to throw out the coolant just because you drained it.
