is it kindda stupid to buy brutale 910s at this moment since new 989 and 1089 are coming out soon? I am not an extreme rider nor very experienced rider enough to deserve more power than 910s already has. The only thing bothering me is that MV may stop producing 910cc models so that the value of my new 910s will depreciate like crazy. I was gonna buy 910s next February, but I can get a really good deal if I buy one this november. Still, it is about $23000 in Korea for brutale 910s. sucks....

welcome to the forum dude!

where is the MV dealer in Korea? In Seoul, eh?

I've been there a handful of times for work, I end up crossing the river going by the KTm dealer and a BMW dealer I think and a couple others...near there?

If you can get a good enough discount on the 910 it can make up for whatever you lose when you sell it considering there probably won't be any discounts on 989/1089 for a while.

To me, the 910 is an ideal motor for the street... more torque than a 600/750 but not overkill on the steet like a gsxr1K. The 910 is a very rewarding ride that can be flogged without going stupid fast on the street and oh, does it beg to be flogged.

Who knows, the 989/1089 may be more of the same without being "too much". But, until riding a 989/1089 I'm going to stick with the 910 being "just right".

Maybe you should wait till the 989 and 1089 Brutales are in the showroom and pick up a 910 really cheap. As leanin said, the discount needs to offset the depreciation and until it does, don't get a 910.

No matter what comes after, 910s is a lot of motorcycle and it should be considered as a bike on its own. If you look at it from an engineering, motorcycling point its an incredable machine. Its probably worth every penny that its sticker says. However if you are concerned about the resale value after the new model comes out, all you have to do is tell your sales person your concern. Try to get some discount on it, if the dealer covers about couple thousand dollars of discount, it does not matter what comes after , you will have an exotic rare italian bike, brand new for $12,900. Which is incredable no matter how you cut it.

The MV dealer is in Seoul, and it's actually really really close to where BMW and KTM dealer are located.....max. 3min walking distance.

The 989 will have 3 hp. more than the 910.

If this power increase shocks you. . .

But I see what you mean about depreciation. Happens with anything between model years.
