It want to crack but it seems to be pulling too much power; the dash keeps flickering and then nothing. I check the battery and it showed 12.8V after cracking it.
I replaced the battery with a new one and the same problem. It cracks very slow for a second or so and dies.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just because a battery has voltage, that does not mean it has the capacity to crank an engine over at a rate sufficient to start it.

That is certain an example of poor starting current reaching your starter motor.

That can be a simple battery charge, or it could be poor connections from the battery to the starting solenoid.

The easy check is to connect your battery tender/maintainer and crank the engine. If normalcy ensues, then the issue is poor battery charge/condition.

If the engine is still slow to crank, then you most likely have poor connections.
