Hello all,

I just drained the oil on my 2007 Brutale 910S and noticed some swarf in the drain plug. I've taken some photos, shown below. I'd like to ask the forum if this amount of swarf is normal? The engine has around 13000km / 8125mi on it, with the last engine oil change being 1000km / 600mi / 2 track days ago. I decided to change the oil as it was already over 1 year old and also as I had a couple of downshifts on the last track day where it went into a false neutral, which I believe happened as I shifted at too high rpm. It can also be seen on the plug a longer thin piece, shown on the second photo, along the plug axis.

Is this cause for concern? Should I just run the bike a bit, change the oil and see what comes out or is it best to look inside the engine?

Thanks for the help!

Your break-in oil (only one change since new) and missed shifts. Pretty normal looking to me. See if it doesn't look like theknurl's next time you change.

And quite missing shifts !!
