Hi good people, I'm looking for a 1090RR and would like some clarification on a couple of things I've seen...

Is this 1090RC a genuine production example, or a respray?

Why do some models of the same year (c.2014-17) have a different lower exhaust/master cylinder cover, like this...

Cheers in advance! :smile2:

I have never seen a RC variant before. I suspect it is a paint job.

There were subtle changes to styling over the years, which accounts for the motor colour changes and the exhaust flap cover.

More importantly, there were changes in ecu brand and motor specification through the years too. The tell tale sign for motor spec is the sprocket size. I am unsure if the change to Eldor ecu meant ride by wire. It is so in later years, but I cannot recall if it is across all years.
Due to sluggish sales and over production do not assume the advertised year is correct. Look for the Vin and confirm the model year of production.
If you google motorcycle specs websites you will get an idea of the changes too, but they are not always totally accurate.
