Really good idea !
For emergencies I use always three tie downs. One left and right from the top of the forks or the handle bars, one through the rear wheel tied to back of the Trailer / Truck. That's rock solid. Wearing out of the suspension by compression is belony. The fork will be always compressed to almost maximum if You break in front of stop light or anchor in front of a race track turn entrance. There is only oil flowing from A to B. In the trailer case is the oil only remaing a little longer in let's say B.
